Causeway Mobile Application Suite

Causeway Mobile (powered by E-SAFE 100) consists of three separate applications which all use the same central database and communicate with each other in real-time using Web Services (an industry standard way of integrating web-based applications).

The three applications are: -

  • Causeway Mobile Back Office - a Microsoft Smart-Client application, utilising “One-Click” deployment. This technology enables us to combine the power of Windows development, and local machine resources, with the flexibility of a web application. Smart-Client applications run inside a secure “sand-box” environment and provide a significantly richer, more responsive and intuitive user interface than would be possible using a traditional web solution. Additionally, “One Click” deployment facilitates centralised program updates, ensuring all users have the latest version of the application. Being a thinclient, all data access is via a secure webservice, using standard HTTP/SOAP protocols.
  • Causeway Mobile PDA - a Windows Mobile Application is developed using Microsoft .NET Compact Framework and SQL Server Compact Edition. It runs on all Windows Mobile devices from Pocket PC 2003 onwards, but offers additional facilities when used on a Windows Mobile 5 (or later) device, such as integrated camera capture.
  • Causeway Mobile Lite - a pure web-browser application containing a small sub-set of the Causeway Mobile Back Office application functionality, allowing users and contractors to record data and view assigned tasks, signing them off as necessary. It is developed using Microsoft ASP.NET.
